Refund Policy
When refunds apply, how to request one, and how Paddle as Merchant of Record processes them. Written to be readable, structured for legal compliance.
Plain-language summary
We want you to be happy with Renovato. The short version of this policy:
- 14-day full refund on your first subscription, no questions asked.
- After 14 days, refunds are evaluated case-by-case.
- Used credits are not refundable; unused credits at cancellation are not refunded but stay available until end of cycle.
- Annual subscriptions: pro-rated refund within first 30 days.

Who handles refunds
Paddle.com Market Limited(“Paddle”) is the Merchant of Record for all Renovato subscription sales. Paddle processes the original payment, collects VAT/sales tax for your jurisdiction, and processes any refund.
To request a refund, email hello@renovato.ai with the order ID (visible in your Paddle invoice) and the reason. We coordinate with Paddle on your behalf. You may also contact Paddle directly via the support link on your invoice.
14-day money-back guarantee (first subscription)
When you start your first paid subscription to Renovato, you are entitled to a full refund within 14 days of the original charge — no questions asked.
This applies to your first paid month or first paid year. It does not apply to subsequent renewal periods (each renewal starts a new billing cycle and the 14-day window does not reset). It does apply to a re-subscription after a cancellation that lasted more than 30 days.
To request: email hello@renovato.ai within 14 days of the charge, with your order ID. The refund is processed back to the original payment method by Paddle within 5-10 business days, depending on your bank.
Refunds after the first 14 days
After the first 14 days of your initial subscription, refunds are evaluated case-by-case. We typically grant refunds when:
- A clear technical failure on our side prevented you from using the Service for a meaningful portion of the billing cycle.
- You were charged for a renewal you did not intend to keep, and you contact us within 7 days of the renewal charge with no significant usage on the new cycle.
- A duplicate charge was made.
- You are entitled to a refund under applicable consumer-protection law (see below).
We typically do not grant refunds for “I forgot to cancel” cases where significant usage has occurred on the new cycle, or for dissatisfaction with AI output quality alone (AI generation is probabilistic; we recommend the 14-day window to evaluate fit).
Credits — what's refundable
Used credits are not refundable. Once you commit a generation run, the credits are spent. The exact cost surfaces in the studio inspector before each run, so you can decide before committing.
Unused credits remain available until the end of your current billing cycle — including after cancellation. We do not refund unused credits in cash; treat them as a paid-up balance for the time you have already paid for.
One-off credit top-ups (where offered) are refundable within 14 days of purchase only if no credits from that top-up have been used. Once any credit from a top-up is spent, the top-up is non-refundable.
Annual (yearly) subscriptions
Annual subscriptions are billed once a year at 10× the monthly rate (two months free). They are eligible for a pro-rated refund within the first 30 days of the annual charge, calculated as follows:
- Within 14 days: full refund (per the 14-day guarantee).
- 15-30 days: refund of the unused portion, less the equivalent of one month at the standard monthly rate (since you used the discounted yearly rate).
- After 30 days: case-by-case, typically not granted.
EU / UK consumer rights
If you are a consumer (not a business) in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for online services under EU Directive 2011/83/EU and the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
Note that under the same regulations, the right of withdrawal is waived once digital service performance has begun with your express consent. By starting to generate content with credits, you may be deemed to have begun performance and therefore to have waived the withdrawal right with respect to credits already used. Our 14-day guarantee above is more generous than the statutory minimum and applies regardless of usage on the first subscription.
Chargebacks
Please contact us before initiating a chargeback with your bank. Chargebacks are time-consuming, costly, and often unnecessary — we are responsive and reasonable. Email hello@renovato.ai and we will work with Paddle to resolve the issue directly.
Accounts that initiate chargebacks without first contacting support may be suspended pending resolution.
How to request a refund
- Email hello@renovato.ai with subject line “Refund — <your order ID>”.
- Include the email address on your account, the Paddle order ID (visible on your invoice), the date of charge, and a brief reason.
- We respond within 2 business days, usually faster.
- If approved, Paddle issues the refund to your original payment method within 5-10 business days.
- You receive a refund confirmation email from Paddle.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email and on our changelog at least 14 days before they take effect. Changes apply only to subscriptions purchased after the effective date — your existing subscription is governed by the policy in effect when you purchased.
