Plate
A plate, in Renovato, is a render output saved to the atlas as a node — the result of a preset run, ready to feed downstream presets or export.
A plate, in Renovato, is a render output saved as a node in the atlas — the persisted result of running a preset on a source. Plates carry the prompt, model, parameters, and credit cost that produced them, so a designer can audit, re-fork, or re-run any plate later without losing context.
In context
The 'plate' term is borrowed from VFX, where a plate is the base photographic frame everything else composites onto. Architectural visualization shares the metaphor: each render is a plate, and downstream variants composite atmosphere, people, materials, or motion onto it.
In Renovato
Plates appear as output nodes in the atlas. Double-clicking a plate opens a side-by-side compare modal against any other plate or source. Plates are draggable into the Studio timeline, exportable as PNG up to 4K, and shareable via the public read-only atlas link.
