GLB

GLB is a binary 3D file format that bundles geometry, textures, and PBR materials into a single file — the default 3D export from Renovato's image-to-3D mode.

GLB is the binary form of the glTF 3D file format, bundling mesh geometry, textures, and PBR (physically-based rendering) materials into a single self-contained file. It's the default export format for Renovato's image-to-3D mode and the preferred handoff format for AR (ARKit, RealityKit), web 3D (Three.js, model-viewer), and game engines (Unreal, Unity).

In context

Before glTF/GLB, sending a textured 3D model to a colleague meant a folder of OBJ, MTL, and texture PNGs. GLB collapses that into one file the recipient can open in any modern 3D viewer. For architectural visualization, this means a render-derived 3D asset is one share away from being on a website or in an AR app.

In Renovato

Renovato's image-to-3D mode exports GLB by default, with FBX and USDZ available for studios standardised on those formats. Materials are baked as PBR (albedo, roughness, metallic, normal) so the model behaves correctly in any PBR-aware renderer.
