The RenovatoGlossary.
The vocabulary Renovato uses for architectural AI — what an atlas is, why a plate is different from a variant, what runs on a credit, and how the standard 3D formats (GLB, USDZ, PBR) actually behave once they leave the platform. Each entry opens with a one-sentence definition.
- AgentAn agent, in Renovato, is a render-aware chat interface that reads the current atlas state and runs presets on your behalf.
- AtlasAn atlas is a node-based AI workspace where every render, preset, and export is a node, and outputs of one operation feed the next.
- CreditA credit, in Renovato, is the unit of generation cost — fast image runs cost 1 credit, mid-tier 2-3, complex composition or image-to-video 5+.
- Floor Plan AIFloor Plan AI is a generative system that takes a 2D floor plan and a placed camera (FOV, height, pitch) and renders the perspective view from that exact viewpoint.
- GLBGLB is a binary 3D file format that bundles geometry, textures, and PBR materials into a single file — the default 3D export from Renovato's image-to-3D mode.
- PBRPBR (physically-based rendering) is a shading model that defines surfaces with albedo, roughness, metallic, and normal maps — the standard for cross-engine architectural materials.
- PhotogrammetryPhotogrammetry is the technique of reconstructing 3D geometry from many overlapping photographs — distinct from AI image-to-3D, which infers a 3D model from a single render.
- PlateA plate, in Renovato, is a render output saved to the atlas as a node — the result of a preset run, ready to feed downstream presets or export.
- PresetA preset, in Renovato, is a named transformation that takes a source render and applies a specific edit — for example L.01 Day → Dusk, S.02 Winter snow, or M.01 Material swap.
- StudioA studio, in Renovato, is the non-linear video editor for the clips Renovato's image-to-video presets produce — multi-track timeline, transitions, audio, 4K MP4 export.
- USDZUSDZ is Apple's native AR file format — a zipped Universal Scene Description (USD) bundle that opens directly in iOS Quick Look for architectural model previews on iPhone and iPad.
- VariantA variant, in Renovato, is a transformed version of a source render — same input, different preset, with an explicit lineage edge back to the source.
